Annual Sports Meet Report

12th December 2025 (Friday) was the Annual Sports Day – “Sankalp” of the Golden Trumpet Public School. It was celebrated with great excitement and enthusiasm by both students and teachers of the school. The event began with a Sanskrit shloka by Swagata Mukherjee Ma’am. The anchors, Arpita Basari Ma’am and Divya Bharti Singh Ma’am then welcomed the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour with saplings, ‘thank you’ cards and uttariyas, followed by the hoisting of the School Flag and Lamp-lighting ceremony.
The Principal cum Academic Director, Shri Soumen Chakraborty of the Golden Trumpet Public School then addressed the teachers and students – he spoke about the necessity of sports for holistic development and the importance of the qualities of discipline, teamwork and a positive attitude – all of which form the basis of the spirit of true sportsmanship. Our Chandra Biswas Ma’am told us to be caring and good human beings, rather than just be the top achievers , whether it be work, studies or games. After this, the balloons were released and the torch was kindled, to mark the inauguration of the programme.
The teachers, then sang the song ‘We shall overcome’ and this was followed by a mass drill performance by students to the song ‘Waka Waka’.
A series of sports events followed up – beginning with ‘Go As You Like’ by Pre-Nursery tiny tots and including events like 50m Race, Relay Race, Balloon Bursting Race, Book Balancing Race, Math Solving Race, etc. The highlight of the day was the Musical Chairs event of the parents of the students, the 50m Race of teachers and of the non-teaching staff. The programme ended with the lowering of the School Flag, the delivering of the Vote of Thanks by Jyoti Agrahari Ma’am and finally, the singing of the National Anthem.
This, the energy, passion and camaraderie displayed by everyone at the event – students, teachers, parents and non-teaching staff, made the day truly unforgettable and enjoyable.
