SCHOOL BUS SAFETY MEASURES AND RULES

All Bus commuters and stakeholders are requested to abide by the following safety rules mandatorily:

1. The students will be under the authority of the escort teacher(s), drivers and conductors while commuting in their school bus. Hence, they must follow the instructions issued to them regarding the seating arrangements / boarding / alighting from each bus / maintaining all the disciplinary aspects of commuting in the school bus. The bus drivers must not be disturbed by the students, at the time of driving, to avoid any untoward incident and ensure the safety of the commuters.
2. The following are PROHIBITED in the Buses: Carrying Bulky items leading to the inconvenience to other fellow bus commuters, Pushing/Pulling/Dragging others in the bus, Destroying/ Damaging fixtures of the bus, Shouting unnecessarily/Using Unparliamentary words, Spilling food &Water/ Throwing Wrappers of packed food items, playing in or running across at a bus stop etc. are prohibited. These acts may cause harm to others leading to the withdrawal of Bus facility of the concerned culprit.
3. PUNCTUALITY AND SAFETY: Students should always reach 5 Minutes prior to the scheduled arrival of your designated bus at the designated bus stop ONLY and stand in a queue to board the bus. Never run after bus once it leaves. Do not run towards an approaching bus. Wait for the bus to stop and let the conductor open the door. Never go under/ behind the bus, if anything gets dropped out of the bus.
4. WALKING TO / FROM THE BUS STOP: After alighting at the designated bus stop, students should go home directly from the bus stop taking the safest route with the fewest streets to cross. If possible cross the desired streets and corners, using crosswalks if available. Look in all directions before crossing and then safely walk across the street. Always obey traffic signals. Never accept any offer of ride from a stranger. Avoid fighting and rough play while at the bus stop, in the bus, or while getting on or off the bus. Make sure that the bus stops before you get on. Getting on a moving bus is dangerous. Take your seat as soon as you board the bus. Whenever any quarrel takes place in the Bus & Bus stop, it must be informed to the office of the school in writing.
5. DISCIPLINARY PROCEEDINGS: Students who violate any of the rules and regulations will receive a negative Bus Conduct Report and will be subjected to a normal progression of penalties. Vandalism in school buses may result in suspension or revocation of the student’s riding privilege; parents may be held financially liable for the cost of repairing the damage caused to school buses.
6. PARK YOUR VEHICLE AT PROPER DISTANCE: While sitting in your vehicle, ensure that the vehicle is parked away from the bus loading & unloading zone.
7. PARENTS/ GUARDIANS/ ESCORTS must not get into the bus for making their wards seated. For the purpose of collecting your ward, ensure that ONLY the authorized parent/escort is available 5 Minutes prior to the arrival of Bus at the respective bus stop. Do not indulge in arguments/ ill treat any of the Bus Staff Members nor ask for any favors against the laid Rules & Regulations. In case of any grievance talk to the concerned authority or report personally, in the School Office. Please do not obstruct the movement of the school bus by chasing it or asking demanding it to stop at any non-designated stoppage.
8. Use mask throughout the journey in case of health issue.
9. Sanitizer- Carry hand sanitizer and use during journey.
10. Avoid touching your face and use disposable gloves.
11. Avoid travelling if you are not well.
12. Maintain social distance during getting in and out of journey.
13. School buses are available for the students as per availability of the seats.
14. The school does not entertain any request for change of bus stops. School reserves the right to increase the bus fare at any time to meet the increasing cost.
15. A notice of clear 30 days from the first day of the month is required for withdrawal of the bus facility in the office else one month bus fee will be recovered.
16. The bus pass should be carried by the students always when using the bus facility.
17. Anyone found travelling by school bus without valid bus pass will be asked to pay the bus fee of entire month.
18. If a child needs to avail bus stop other than the scheduled one, prior permission of Principal is required.
19. The front door of the bus is only permissible for entrance and exit.
